Pressure Drills
These drills work well for both players as each have the opportunity to practice their own shots.
Serve - drive - boast - lob - volley backhand drill.
Drive - drop - drive drill.
Serve - drive - boast lob volley forehand drill.
Competitive Drills
Competitive drills are a great way of keeping the fun in practice. Ideally you want a partner who is a similar level to yourself in order that you can make the drills competitive.
3/4 court game.
Drop - drive - boast game.
Front short game.
Conditioned Games / Combined Shots
These games and shots work well for both players and helps work on specific shots.
Conditioned game - 1 bounce before short line.
The Forehand
These drills work equally well for your backhand as well as the forehand. The player is working continuously on their accuracy which is vital at this level of play.
Works well for both your forehand & backhand straight drives. Working on accuracy, length and tightness down the wall.
The Backhand
Off the back wall low kill.
The Drop
The drop shot is a difficult shot to control in Racketball but the more you practice the better you get! The old adage ‘practice makes perfect’ comes to mind!
Side to side drop at the front solo drill.
Straight & crosscourt drop at the front solo drill.
The Boast / The Lob
Lob solo drill. You can use this drill for either the forehand or the backhand. Look to get height on the front wall and direct the ball on to the side wall so it drops into the back corner. Easier said than done!
The Volley
One of the more difficult shots in racketball to play well but when you do it can be a game changer!
Volley drop side to side solo drill.
Low working Crosscourt volley.
Backhand volley drop solo drill. Great solo drill to just groove your backhand or forehand straight volley drop as well as practising your lob / slow ball down the wall.
The Serve
