BASIC MISTAKES FOREHAND BACKHAND BOAST SERVE VOLLEY

Your Lesson Structure

If you are a new coach then this video may be helpful as a starting point for structuring your lessons for both racketball and squash. Each time we go on court we should have a plan as to what areas we are going to cover for the pupil. Obviously if they are a new pupil then we need to analyse were they are level wise and what they want to achieve from their coaching sessions. The video sets out how you can divide your lessons into sections. An established coach will have worked out what works best for them and the video may just be useful as a way of reflecting on what you do and why you do it.

 
 

Basic lesson structure. This structure can be used if you want to as a basic coat hanger which you can hang the structure of your lesson on! It works, is relatively straight forward and can be tailored to your own requirements.

 

 

Basic Mistakes

 
One of the basic serving mistakes by beginners is that they open up their shoulder and pull the ball. Guide them where to hit the ball on the front wall.

Basic beginners mistake, explains the problem when you get too close to the ball.

Beginners tend to lean away or pull off their shot rather than transfer their weight into the shot.
 

The Forehand

 
Working on the control of the ball is always good and your pupil needs to feel that they are fully in control of their racket and the ball. This exercise helps.

These routines can be used to work on the beginner's forehand and get them used to hitting a length as you progress through the extensions.
 

The Backhand

 

This game can be used on both the forehand and the backhand. Good fun as well as bringing out the competitive edge!
